Default Unsure about...

This may be the dumbest question ever but here goes, why can't characters have any outfit/ hairstyle etc.? Also, to that end why can't they be fatter or skinnier or have more customization to that effect?
The reason I mention it at all is, even fantasy characters can have deceptive looks.
Otherwise, I dig the game to no end.
Thanks ANET.
Thanks to anyone pointing me to an answer.

There really isn't an answer to this. Anet have their reasons for keeping the character design process simplistic, and I don't expect that they'll be sharing those reasons any time soon.

Imo, they want to keep it simple. No one really complains about it, so why should they?

Canadian Bacon is right, we all wish that we had a bit more control over what our characters look like as they are our ingame persona. But I am not sure why NC-Soft hasn't implemented this as the community has been asking for it for quite some time now. In my opinion it may have something to do with the number of servers and amount of actual data space available to them seeing as we pay nothing to play the game.

It seems to me that it would be more complicated to have different "looks" for each class as opposed to the same code for everyone, maybe I'm just missing out on that part.
I can see adding more customization could be problematic I suppose, I just got caught in the moment of asking questions.
Thanks folks.

Megamouse , i have seen you do this mistake a few times and I'm not trying to bash you for making it , just trying to help.

In this post you say NC-Soft hasn't implemented it yet, the reason for this is because NC soft doesn't implement anything in the game, you mean to say Anet.
I know thats what you mean too, it just makes you look as if your misinformed, it might also cause others to blame NC soft for stuff, when its Anet you mean.

NC Soft basically has no say in whatever is made, added or removed from guildwars ,they are the Publisher of Guildwars .Anet is the creator and the one that adds or doesn't add something, removes something or changes something and most of it is fully they'r own decision.
